Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer The Economic Development Corporation of Erie County has retained Decision Associates to assist in the search for a new Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. This exciting and unique opportunity requires an individual with a passion for economic development and a solid financial management background in a complex and dynamic organization. The VP for Finance and CFO will manage the Corporation’s financial and accounting functions, financial programs and services and practices and procedures to ensure a sound financial position and the achievement of long and short term goals for the EDC and six affiliated organizations. The successful candidate will provide overall leadership to the organization’s three financial functions: accounting, raising capital and financing programs each headed by a professional who will report to the VP, Finance/CFO. We are seeking a candidate who possesses solid organizational leadership skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. This individual will possess a demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and ensure a high level of staff performance. The development and implementation of effective financial and accounting procedures, principles and practices, the presentation of required fiscal reports to Board members, investors, lenders, regulatory agencies and various external parties and the ability to instill confidence among various constituent groups will round out one’s candidacy. The successful candidate will have prior financial management and personnel management experience. A solid understanding of economic development issues, real estate development and grant writing is highly desirable. He or she will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. A Master’s degree along with CPA or other professional designation is a definite plus.
