JOB DESCRIPTION: Analyst duties: responsible for analyzing past and present financial operations, applying complex principles of finance and accounting to facilitate preparation of various forecasts and budgets, advises management on matters such as effective use of resources and implications of change in operations, develops ad hoc reports and queries to facilitate upper management in decision making and planning.
Accountant duties: responsible for the more complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts including reconciliation, research and analysis; develops financial statements and ad hoc reports; coordinates functions with other departments to comply with accounting principles and processes; assists manager in development of procedures, controls, and utilizes numerous systems. This is the most senior skill level position and individual may provide functional advice or training to further develop the Finance Team. Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to work overtime as required. Must comply with all work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance.
5 – 7 years experience in accounting and analysis with strong GAAP knowledge, reporting skills, and analytical skill. Proven success in prioritizing competing deadlines, handling complex accounting issues, budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis, and report building. Proven team player who is interested in challenge, leadership, and growth. Requires the ability to learn accounting software quickly. Experience with Microsoft Access is highly desirable and Excel skills must be intermediate to advanced. All Crowley positions require proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word. Some positions may also include proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
