Department Description:

The
department is responsible for accurately reporting artist financial data on a
timely basis as it pertains to Royalties.
This enables senior management to make informed decisions based on the data/information
received.

High Level Job Description:

-Royalties
related financial record keeping, recording, analysis and reconciliations to
the general ledger
, corporate consolidation system and audited financial statements.

Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:



  • Prepare and complete P&L
    analyses related to Artist, Copyright & Union royalties which include
    Physical, Digital and Licensing.
    This includes calculations for royalty expense, unapplied.
  • Prepare and complete balance
    sheet lead schedules.
  • Run system related reports,
    queries as needed for various analyses.
  • Assist with processing and
    handling of foreign files.
  • Prepare, review and complete Royalties
    Payable Liabilities analysis which includes but not limited to reconciliations,
    lead schedules, analysis, quarterly binder, quarterly memo, index
  • Prepare and/or review journal
    entries as needed.
  • Understand and be familiar with
    the related Royalties analyses:
    Payables Balances, Applied Balances, Unapplied Balances
  • Document and improve current
    processes
  • Royalties Payable Quarterly
    Binders – ensure deliverables are received and documented properly
  • Month-end close binders – –
    ensure deliverables are received and documented properly
  • Develop and maintain
    relationship with necessary external departments which include Shared
    Services Accounting, Label Finance, Corporate Finance, BA and provide
    service in line with senior management’s expectations.
  • Coordinate with rate
    administrators in preparation of royalty expense analysis.
  • Coordinate with Income Tracking
    department to ensure all income is booked timely and accurately
  • Reconcile unapplied accruals
    and progress reports
  • Reconcile SubLedger balances to
    G/L
  • Assist and coordinate work
    flows changes resulting from systems conversions
  • Special projects as defined by senior management

  • Proficient
    in Excel (Intermediate – Advanced Excel Skills), Word, Powerpoint
