International Finance Manager

PURPOSE:

• Responsible for the International Finance operations in West Africa, primarily Nigeria, Ghana, Congo and Angola.

  ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance, CPA preferred. Seven or more years of manufacturing or related professional accounting experience required. Strong computer skills specifically, spreadsheets and integrated MRP system, such as SAP.
  • Experience in accounting procedures, internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and to solve non-recurring problems.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • A high level of communication skills are required to interact with non finance people, to lead teams and to direct the work of others
  • Able and willing to travel to undeveloped countries in Africa on a regular basis.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

    • Required to travel to West Africa frequently throughout the year (mostly Nigeria). Expected to spend Quarter end in West Africa to supervise closing the books. Will also be required in West Africa for audits, special projects, SOX reviews, etc.
    • E Overall responsible for the day to day operations for the Lagos, Nigeria based Finance Office. Achieved through:
    • Review and approve complex monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external reports published to various groups.
    • Maintain a strong control environment to safeguard the company’s assets, ensure all transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner, all accounts are reconciled on a regular basis and all SOX and audit requirements are met.
    • Responsibility for local Statutory and Taxation reporting requirements. Will include correspondence with Local Taxation authorities and Accounting Firm.
    • Responsible for reviewing and approving month end financial statements prior to submitting to Assistant Controller.
    • Participates in the preparation and analysis in the annual budgeting process.
    • Keep in contact with the Corporate Tax Department on all international tax related issues.
    • Search for opportunities to reduce operating costs and improve financial performance; such as working capital, controllable expenses.
