Overview:
The director will be responsible for providing finance leadership of the direct to consumer channel (full-price, outlet and ecommerce) as well as providing thoughtful analysis and insight into business trends. Essential duties and responsibilities include monthly close, budgeting, long range planning and forecasting, variance analysis, decision support projects, and ad hoc analysis. Responsibilities:
•Serve as a strategic leader directly responsible for developing accurate financial forecasts that optimize sales, margin, cost movement and inventory
•Manage monthly financial close process, deliver accurate financial results including comprehensive analysis of key expense and balance sheet items
•Develop monthly financial forecasts that accurately predict business performance and highlight key issues for senior management
•Track and analyze forecasts vs. budget; identify risks and opportunities; ensure all risks and opportunities are appropriately reflected in the forecast
•Develop annual budgets and long range plans that meet all corporate requirements, are aligned with Juicy divisional strategies and incorporate recommendations from all key business partners
•Provide business partners with ongoing financial insight into operational efficiencies; assess and communicate spending reduction opportunities; share early identification of problem areas and relevant reporting as appropriate
•Monitor store performance, providing reporting on actual performance to budget and forecast, including detailed measurements and explanations to all variances and the creation of action plans and recommendations for improvement vs. goals
•Execute, enhance and maintain daily, monthly and quarterly reporting to inform business partners on sales, margin and expense performance
•Develop value-added cross-divisional and cross-functional partnerships to maintain awareness of business activities, and leverage knowledge and best practices
•Assist in the preparation of presentations including monthly business reviews, annual budgets and long-term strategic planning initiatives
•Prepare special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required
•Provide leadership, direction and development to finance team Qualifications:
•Undergraduate and/or graduate degree preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration with concentration in Finance; MBA a plus
•7+ years of related experience
•Previous Retail finance experience required
•Strong knowledge of financial and accounting concepts
•Apparel business or consumer products background
•Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and prioritize in a dynamic environment
•Must be highly detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
•Data oriented and have proven ability to interpret and synthesize data, making recommendations to drive business decisions
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain business partner relationships at all levels within the organization
•Ability to articulate financial concepts to non-finance business partners in a clear and concise manner
•Month end close experience
