Director of Finance

The Director of Finance will manage the analytical support, decision support and managerial reporting of the divisional operations and corporate support departments. The individual will prepare financial analyses & reports that will assist Operations in the effective management of their areas of responsibility. The individual will gather key data from internal business groups, external sources and computer data warehouses. This individual will have overall responsibility for budgeting, forecasting and business development proformas
Routine decisions would be: validating accuracy of information; assessing the reasonableness of financial assumptions; ensuring that proper conclusions are drawn for financial analysis; approval of new sales and existing client pricing. Guidance & review of above decisions will be available from the VP of Finance.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Effectively interact as a member of the Senior Management by providing sound financial counsel, overall business perspective and insight in developing strategies and operating plans
- Lead the planning process at the SRS Division level for annual budgets, forecasts, and strategic long range plan.
- Preparation of insightful analyses of daily/weekly/monthly results vs. budget and forecast. Identify key drivers and highlight performance trends.
- Ensure compliance with all planning deadlines and requirements.
- Ensure process and financial integration between operations, and SRS finance team on all financial assumptions used to build budget and forecasts. Provide opinions on achievability of plans and associate risks.
- Lead and develop staff through providing an optimal finance organization design, in-depth financial and operational training and special project assignments. Focus on succession planning to assure adequate bench strength
- Review and approval of new business proformas.
- Preparation of capital project evaluations in accordance with established ROI criteria.
The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, proficiency in GAAP accounting and financial statements interrelationships( P&L, balance sheet and cash flow), and leadership. Additional required skills include:
- Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills with advanced/complex modeling experience.
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills
- Strong business and organizational skills.
- Financial creativity to review and organize complex data, then summarize it.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret business and financial reports.
- Ability to effectively and professionally interact and communicate with management.
- Ability to effectively present financial information and respond to questions from groups.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information – salary and insider information.
Bachelors degree (BA/BS ) in finance, accounting or economics from a four year college or university required. MBA or CPA a plus. Minimum seven years related experience required.
